Meet Accounting Staff

Getting in touch

By appointment, by introduction.

We'll be straight with you: we don't take on clients off the street. Never have. Every firm and family business we work with came to us through someone we already knew — a client, a candidate we'd placed, a CPA we'd helped staff up in tax season, or a banker we'd played euchre with since the Reagan years.

It's not that we're precious about it. It's that the whole thing only works because the network is trusted on both sides. A cold introduction to a candidate is nearly useless to us. A warm one from somebody we both know is gold.

If you were sent our way

Wonderful. Ask whoever pointed you here to drop us a note — they know how to reach us, and we'll be in touch inside a business day or two. We promise we're easy to work with once the introduction is made.

If you're an accounting professional thinking about a change

We're always happy to get to know good people, even if we don't have a role today. The candidates we place are almost always folks we've known for a year or more before the right opportunity comes up. If you know somebody who knows us, that's the door in.

If you're a recruiter, vendor, or platform

With respect — we're not likely to be a good fit for what you're offering. We don't use applicant tracking software, we don't buy resume databases, and we're not looking to scale. We built the business small on purpose and we plan to keep it that way.

Where we work

We serve the Upper Midwest, broadly speaking — small cities and county seats, farm towns, lake towns, the occasional candidate who moved to Minneapolis and asks us to keep an eye out. Remote-hybrid placements are common now. Fully remote is possible but not our specialty.
